IES: Digital Twin and Energy Simulation for Smart Buildings and Cities
R2M Solution is the official IES distributor in Italy and Spain.
IES ICL (Intelligent Communities Lifecycle) is a cutting-edge suite of tools designed to plan, simulate, monitor, and manage buildings, districts, and entire communities in a smarter, more efficient, and sustainable way.
Based on dynamic 3D digital twin models, ICL helps reduce energy consumption, enhance comfort, plan smart grids, and achieve ESG objectives.
R2M Solution supports the adoption of IES ICL through dedicated training, license management, and integrated projects at both building and urban scales.
The ICL suite consists of four modular, interoperable tools:
iCD – Intelligent Community Design
iCD is an urban modeling tool that simulates the energy demand of entire districts or cities, for both new and existing projects.
It enables the creation of smart masterplans, evaluation of development scenarios, integration of renewable energy, and the design of local energy communities.
Ideal for: urban planners, public authorities, energy consultants.
VE – Virtual Environment
IES VE is one of the most advanced building-plant energy simulation platforms worldwide. It provides detailed analysis of thermal loads, comfort, daylighting, ventilation, and energy consumption, supporting major green certifications (LEED, BREEAM, WELL).
Ideal for: designers, LEED/WELL consultants.
iSCAN – Intelligent Control and Analysis
iSCAN integrates and analyzes data from sensors, BMS, meters, and mobile devices to assess building and system operational performance. It helps identify inefficiencies, anomalies, and energy waste, while optimizing management processes.
Ideal for: energy managers, operators of existing buildings, GSE/ESCO.
iVN – Intelligent Virtual Network
iVN allows abstraction and simulation of energy consumption at the network level, supporting the design and management of district heating, cooling, and smart electrical grids. It enables the evaluation of energy exchange scenarios, optimization of supply/demand, and integration of renewable sources.
Ideal for: developers of energy communities.
