PARMENIDES
Plug&plAy eneRgy ManagEmeNt for hybrID Energy Storage
PARMENIDES develops innovative flexibility services using Hybrid Energy Storage Systems (HESS) that combine various storage technologies like batteries, hydrogen, heat pumps, and electric vehicles. It aims to meet technical, economic, regulatory, and social needs through stakeholder engagement.
The project creates a secure, interoperable, and ontology-based energy management system to handle diverse storage technologies and energy community needs flexibly and scalably.
Solutions will be demonstrated in pilots in Austria and Sweden, showcasing the system’s real-world technical, economic, and social benefits.
PARMENIDES addresses digital fragmentation by developing a new ontology focusing on electricity and heating domains in energy communities. Its Energy Management System (EMS) will use this ontology to enable interoperable, reliable, and secure data exchange, supporting diverse use cases of hybrid storage flexibility.
Key impacts:
- Enhances grid flexibility and energy community participation.
- Provides scalable, interoperable, and secure EMS for hybrid storage.
- Demonstrates real-world applicability through pilots in Austria and Sweden.
