Iván Aranda
Head of Energy Area, Spanish Branch
Iván Aranda combines a solid technical background (Bachelor in Chemistry and Materials Engineer) with extensive international experience in R&D, planning and project management. He also has a master’s degree in Science, Technology and Society studies. He spent five years (2005-2009) living in Scotland, working on applied energy storage research. From 2009 to 2014, he moved to Bolivia to work as a strategic consultant on the industrialization project for the evaporite resources (lithium) of the Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia). Since 2014, he has focused on supporting innovation projects for European companies and public bodies. Iván is currently Head of Energy at R2M Solution and is involved in several H2020 projects related to the deployment of technologies for smart grids and the testing of new business models, such as storage, demand response or aggregation. At the national level, since 2019, Iván has been promoting the energy communities model through the articulation of different stakeholders and the development of pilot projects. Iván coordinates and/or participates in >10 projects related to the development of energy communities.
Main area of activity in R2M:
Iván works on H2020 energy research and innovation projects, providing consulting services to industrial and institutional stakeholder´s. He also participates preparing proposal for new project deployment. In the business development side, Ivan is collaborating on the identification and implementation of new business lines for R2M growth and sustainability. At the moment, he is involved in several Europa projects (REACT, Heat to Fuel, Drive).
